Just a quick one about ‘why coconut oil? ‘

Coconut oil is one of the best oils for cooking because it doesn’t have transfats, even when heated at high temperatures (its the only oil not altered by heat). It is also high in Lauric Acid, pure coconut oil contains about 50 percent lauric acid, and is the most abundant natural source of lauric acid available.

It is also made from chain fatty acids which are more easily digested as well as being cholesterol free. It is good for the thyroid and aids in weight loss.

NOTE: Lauric Acid:
When lauric acid is present in the body, it is converted into monolaurin, a monoglyceride compound which exhibits antiviral, antimicrobial, antiprotozoal and antifungal properties. It acts by disrupting the lipid membranes in organisms like fungus, bacteria and viruses, thus destroying them.

Olive oil is particularly good for a healthy heart. But better for you uncooked in dressings etc not as a form of cooking. Smile

I have Coconut spray cooking oil and also jarred butter organic coconut oil – both purchased from coles and I can see lasting a LONGGGGGGGG time… Smile
